Trip to Seattle's Pacific Science Center

03/13 - Gavin took his first trip to the Pacific Science Center.  Our kids loved visiting the Science Center when they were young, so now a second generation is going to experience the fun!

The water exhibit has got to be eveyone's  favorite place to play (including Roger)

Next it was time to build an Alien:

We saw a few Dino's roaming around:

And visited the Butterfly House (Nana's favorite place)

Then there was Water Works where you had to use a water gun to hit a target.  Gavin loved this...

We had a great view of the Space Needle:

Of course we rode the Merry-Go-Round:

It was a great day!  Our next stop is Point Defiance in Tacoma......

Whoooo

We went for a walk through the Tualitin Valley Wetlands in Sherwood last weekend.  It was a beautiful day, clear and sunny.  We saw a small owl napping in a tree...

Later I found a pair of geese standing side by side.  Perfect symmetry....

Breckenridge Trip 02/2010

02/03/2010

Today we head off to Colorado. After a smooth flight we found Denver to be sunny with a chill in the air. We see a couple of frozen lakes and a whole lot of prairie dogs enjoying the sun! We started our trek at Denver's 5000 feet and head up the mountain until we reached Silverthorne and Frisco at 9400 feet. Unfortunately Brittany and I are under the weather with altitude sickness. Not fun at all, but I hope to feel better tomorrow. If I don't feel better then I will go to one of the Oxygen Bars for some fresh air. No kidding.. they have Oxygen Bars here!

We are staying at the Hotel Frisco in a little apartment room. The hotel is very unique and each room is different. Here are some pics of our room which also has a great view of the mountains.

We received about 2 inches of snow last night.  The mountains were getting most of the snow.  We decided to explored Breckenridge today.   We walked and walked and walked some more.  Breckenridge is having their annual Snow Sculptures contest.  It all starts with one 10 ton huge block of snow....

Then talent lends to great art....

Here are some views from the top of the mountain in Breckenridge.

Brittany and I went shopping while Seth and Roger went skiing.  We had a blast!!  Here are some pictures of the ice signs for the companies sponsoring the Snow Scuptures contest.

Plus a few more pics:

Today was hockey day!  We traveled to Steamboat Springs to watch Seth's hockey team play.  Seth is the handsome coach in the blue shirt.  We traveled over Rabbit Ears Pass which was absolutely beautiful!  It was snowing the entire day.

Seth's team has the blue jerseys.  They won their game 4-1, Yahoo!

After the game we headed down to Denver for more hockey.  We watched the Avalanche Hockey team play the Oilers.
